la colonisation portugaise et son impact dans les pays africains
Abstract in english
This article highlights the real motives that led the Portuguese State to intervene in the field of colonization, the objectives it sought, the stages of Portuguese colonization in Africa, as well as the methods used to control some African islands and their coasts. Portugal was also the first Crusader country to fight the coast of sub-Saharan Africa for religious reasons, in solidarity with a Christian saint named John who was, at the time, living in Abyssinia. Portugal succeeded in this task because it was able to colonize some African States, seize commercial centers and prevent the development and spread of Islam in the following countries: Cape Verde, Guinea-Bissau, Angola, Mozambique, Sao Tome and Principe. Portuguese colonization has had a great impact on the cultural, social, economic, religious, and other levels. The negative effects on the religious side confirm that the number of Muslims in the Portuguese colonies was much lower than it was in others.
